Tour Itinerary
Arrive at Varanasi Airport or Railway Station. Our representative will receive you and assist with check-in at the hotel. Later, drive to Sarnath – the sacred site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Explore the Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, and Sarnath Museum. In the evening, witness the divine Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat (optional, extra charges may apply). Dinner and overnight stay in Varanasi.
After breakfast, depart for Bodhgaya (approx. 7 hours drive), the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Visit the revered Mahabodhi Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Muchalinda Lake, Animesh Lochana Chaitya, Sujata Stupa, and Chankramana (Cloister Walk). Spend peaceful moments meditating under the sacred Bodhi Tree. Overnight stay in Bodhgaya.
Drive to Rajgir, an important site associated with Lord Buddha’s teachings. Visit the Vishwa Shanti Stupa (World Peace Pagoda) on Griddhakuta Hill, where Buddha delivered many discourses. Explore the Hot Water Springs believed to have medicinal value. Later, proceed to Nalanda to visit the ancient ruins of Nalanda University – one of the world’s earliest residential universities and a hub of Buddhist learning. Return to Rajgir for overnight stay.
After breakfast, proceed to Vaishali, the site of the Second Buddhist Council and associated with Buddha's last sermon. Visit the Ashokan Pillar, Relic Stupa, and Abhishek Pushkarini. Later, continue the journey to Kushinagar, where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana (final salvation). Check-in at the hotel and stay overnight in Kushinagar.
Begin the day with a visit to the sacred Mahaparinirvana Temple, which houses a reclining statue of Buddha, the Ramabhar Stupa (cremation site of Buddha), and Matha Kuar Shrine. Post-lunch, drive to Lumbini in Nepal, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama (Lord Buddha). Complete border formalities, check-in at the hotel in Lumbini, and stay overnight.
Explore the Lumbini Sacred Garden, including the Maya Devi Temple (birth spot of Buddha), Pushkarini Pond (where Buddha’s mother bathed), and the historic Ashokan Pillar. Visit the monastic zone housing monasteries built by Buddhist nations around the world. Enjoy spiritual serenity and stay overnight in Lumbini.
After an early breakfast, drive to Shravasti, a prominent monastic center where Lord Buddha spent 24 monsoon seasons. Visit Jetavana Monastery, Ananda Bodhi Tree, and Mulgandha Kuti (Buddha’s meditation hut). Later, continue to Lucknow and check-in to the hotel for overnight stay.
On the final day, you can either proceed with your departure from Lucknow or choose to return to Varanasi if your onward journey is scheduled from there.
Alternatively, you may opt for an optional visit to Sankasia (Sankisa) – the sacred site believed to be where Lord Buddha descended from Tushita Heaven after preaching to his mother. Sankasia is around 3.5 hours from Lucknow. If you choose this option, departure can be arranged from Lucknow on the same day, or from Varanasi the next day with a tour extension.
